About Free MetaData Remover

Free MetaData Remover is a simple online tool that removes hidden data from your files. Photos and documents often carry information you never chose to share — the place a photo was taken, the camera that took it, the date and time, and the name of the person or software that made it. This tool helps you strip that away before you share.

Our goal

We built this around three ideas: privacy, simplicity, andspeed. There is one thing to do on the home page, and it takes three steps: choose a file, remove the metadata, download the clean copy. No settings to learn, no tutorial to read.

Clean files before you share them

Anything you post online can be inspected by anyone who downloads it. Cleaning a file first means you share the picture without also sharing where you were standing when you took it. Use it before uploading to social media, marketplaces, forums, job applications, or anywhere else your files reach people you do not know.

No signup

There is no account to create and nothing to install. Open the page, clean your file, and close the tab. For supported images the work happens inside your own browser, so the file does not need to travel anywhere.

Who it is for

This tool is built for normal people, not specialists. Students, creators, photographers, journalists, job seekers, small business owners, and anyone who simply wants safer file sharing. If you have never heard the word “metadata” before today, this tool still works for you.

What it supports today

JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WEBP images are supported right now. PDF support may be added later. We would rather support a few formats properly than claim to support everything.
